William Klausmeyer, DDS - Atlanta Dentist - Norcross Dentist - All Smiles Dental Care

Dr. William Klausmeyer is a graduate of the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, Class of 1984. Born in Highland Park, Illinois he grew up predominantly in
Michigan. Always involved in athletics and in the outdoors, Dr. Klausmeyer played a variety of sports: football, bicycling, hiking, skiing, soccer, basketball, softball and running being among his pursuits. During his undergraduate years at Michigan, he was perennially on the Dean’s list, and as a freshman won the William Branstrom award signifying his being in the top 5% of his freshman class.

Dr. Klausmeyer was elected Vice-President of his class during his D2 year of dental school. He graduated in the top 20% of his class, and was awarded the Francis P. Vedder award upon graduation – given annually to a senior dental student demonstrating exceptional interest and skill in the area of Fixed Prosthodontics.

After taking and passing the Northeast Regional Board, Dr. Klausmeyer accepted a faculty position at the U of M Dental School teaching junior and senior level students in the Crown and Bridge clinics.

Dr. Klausmeyer successfully completed the Florida Dental Board exam in December of 1984 and then decided to move there at the end of his contract with U of M in spring of 1985. After researching locations and working for other dentists during his first year and a half in Florida – he settled on starting a new practice in the small but growing town of Port St. Lucie. The town had fewer than 20,000 citizens at the time, and he was the 6th dentist in the city. For 22 years he served the people of Port St. Lucie.

Dr. Klausmeyer has worked consistently over the years to help provide reasonably priced care – and give results one would expect to pay far more for – consistent with his training at U of M. He has kept abreast of developments in the profession, and works closely with other dentists, and specialists to assists his patients in receiving what the patient’s want, and then some. Dr. Klausmeyer recognizes that many people see a dentist reluctantly, and caters not only to the brave, but also to the fearful.

After the sale of his dental practice in May of 2008, and after a period of transition through July of 2008, the Klausmeyer’s relocated to Roswell, Georgia. During that time, Dr. Klausmeyer has had a chance to spend more time at home with his kids and wife, take a sabbatical, and prepare for the C.R.D.T.S. exam, required for licensure in the state of Georgia.

The time off has enabled Dr. Klausmeyer and his wife extra freedom to assist their children getting acclimated to a new home and schools, given them a chance to meet and get to know their neighbors, and an opportunity to visit relatives, travel, and get to know the state of Georgia. Additionally Dr. Klausmeyer spent numerous weeks meeting dentists in his area, screening patients for the board exam, studying for the written board exam, taking the Medical College of Georgia’s Prep Course, and then
successfully completing the exam itself.

Dr. Klausmeyer has had many volunteer activities: He was a member of the Martin County Park & Recreation Advisory Board. He was a State Representative for the International Mountain Bike Association. He is a past Treasurer for the Haney Creek Greenway Group, and also the past Secretary / Treasurer for the Airborne Mountain Bike Club of the Treasure Coast of which he was also a founding member. He was a board member on The Ocala Mountain Bike Association as well. (Due to relocating to Georgia these positions were resigned)

moving to Georgia, Dr. Klausmeyer has become a volunteer in the Georgia Adopt-A-Stream program, and was a volunteer for Roswell Mayor Jere Wood during his recent successful campaign for re-election.

Dr. Klausmeyer’s greatest pride is his family. His greatest joy comes from just being with his wife, Lisa, and kids (Bryan, Jason, James and Christian), traveling, outdoor activities or just hanging out together. Recently his oldest son, Bryan, 23, graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Michigan, L.S. & A. School of History, Honors Program, has completed the GRE and awaits admission for graduate school. Jason, 20 is a sophomore at Florida Atlantic University’s Residential Honors College, is taking the DAT exam, and hopes to attend dental school upon graduation. James, age 15 is an honors student and plays snare drum in the Roswell High School marching band. Christian, age 13 has recently completed his second season playing lacrosse.
